About this Book
This book was written in response to a request from Carrie McKinnon and Gabriella Kovacs of ILCA, the International Language Coaching Association. The request was for guidelines on: “How do I assess how well I am doing as a language coach?”. Consequently, this book contains six steps that an educator can take to become more coach-like in their work; and a navigational framework based on the Four Rooms of Change personal and professional development model. The biggest resource are the questions for reflection on how you can navigate your way through developing and self-assessing the six coaching skills that you use as a language coach.
About the Author
Martin Richards has been an educator for thirty years, first teaching Maths, then English. He started a business English training consultancy which ran for thirty years, morphing through to language coaching and beyond. Towards the end of his career, Martin trained and certified as a Life Coach. He coached job seekers and finally educators. Martin’s time is now dedicated to writing.
